In Chios, you feel the confusion. Winter is pitiless. The Sea becomes a cemetery. An island becomes a prison. And with the darkness comes the food’s thief in his brown suit with his naked tail.
Every night in the camp, you can hear a man yelling from a tent. People think he lost his mind since he arrived. But this is not a surprise anymore. This is a cry of pain, a scream in the dark. He’s shouting out for every men and women in exile and trapped there.
But in the twilight hours, a new state tries to emerge from the most blurred shapes. You recognize some fragments of concepts, notions born in this chaos. Few clear and precise lines are here but are floating, unconnected. And before you can give them a meaning, a purpose, the darkness is back.
